4 on 4 | Acrylic Edition

Every month myself and a very talented group of ladies from Clickin Moms get together to create the "4 on 4 Blog Circle" showcasing 4 of our favorite images from the month. Be sure to click the link at the bottom of this post to explore the circle!

A few months ago I went looking for a new prop to incorporate into my photography.  I went on Amazon, I went to National Camera Exchange, I even went to Michaels and was wholly uninspired.  Then I went to Home Depot.

Photographers in Minneapolis

A piece of acrylic sheet.  My goodness talk about sparking my creativity.  I bought two of them since I wasn't sure how I was going to use them.  They are about the size of a full sheet of poster board and are incredibly durable and easy to clean.

Using a snoot with my speed light I was able to capture some amazing reflections!  It's a bit trickier to capture a person with this technique but it is entirely possible!

Burnsville MN Studio Photographer

And when I learned to use it as a substitute for a rainy pane of glass?  Yes please.  I love the mystery and the mood it gives!

But don't get me wrong...it's not all dark images and melancholy.  These are SO versatile!!

...and did I mention easy to clean?
